The Queensland Resources Council and Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) recently celebrated the Resources Awards for Women in Brisbane. This annual event is an opportunity to shine the spotlight on the amazing women and diversity champions within our industry. Their stories, including overcoming various challenges and adversity, are both inspiring and demonstrate the value of leadership, inclusion and mentorship.
Once again, NRW Holdings’ business, Golding, was the proud sponsor of the Exceptional Female Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA) Student Award. The QMEA delivers important programs that support school students into resource sector pathways, including science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) industries.
We congratulate this year’s QMEA Award recipient, Jixie Navarro from Moranbah State High School. Jixie’s commitment to her studies and enthusiasm for a successful career in the resources sector is truly commendable. Jixie has the potential to make an important contribution to our industry in the future, and we look forward to watching her career grow.
