NRW was awarded the contract for the mine development, drill and blast and mining services at Altura Mining Limited’s new Pilgangoora Lithium project in Western Australia’s Pilbara.

  NRW was awarded the Carrapateena Copper Mine contract by OZ Minerals, located 150km north of Port Augusta in South Australia. The contract award is a significant milestone for NRW as it seeks to diversify in both client and geographical location.

  NRW was awarded the 72 month mining contract by Gascoyne Resources. The total value of the contract is over $300 million, with mining taking place at Gilbey’s Golden Wing and Sly Fox Open Pits.

  Before too long, we were one of the leading tailings dam constructors in the region and we also landed our first long term major contract for Westlime in Dongara, WA.

  1996 was an exciting year for NRW as we moved into our new headquarters in Welshpool, which for the first time also had a fully operational workshop.

  NRW acquired Opthalmia Contracting to establish a presence in the Pilbara and began operating from Newman. Opthalmia held a three year contract to service BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s Mt Whaleback iron ore mine.
