RCR Mining Technologies has a decades-long history of delivering innovative, world-class solutions across a range of mining applications. The latest addition to their equipment range is a fully optimised robot welding cell, complete with manipulators for manufacturing spare parts.
The RCR robot welder provides significant improvements in both efficiency and safety. Engineers used thorough testing and optimisation to reduce cycle times from 60 minutes down to eight minutes, maintaining a high level of quality and consistency while minimising any risk of damaging the equipment.
The robot welder has enabled dramatic improvements in productivity, translating into lower material and labour costs, and creating opportunities for further optimisation of upstream and downstream processes. And further automation is in the works, with RCR preparing business cases and further upskilling existing workers in applied technologies to advance the company’s continuous improvement program.
