NRW Project of the Quarter winner, the Middlemount team, donate $5000 to Solider On Australia
Project of the Quarter for 2016’s second quarter has been awarded to the NRW project team at the Middlemount Coal Mine. The team have chosen Solider On Australia as the beneficiary of their $5000 prize money.
The award is an initiative stemming from one of the core NRW values to have ‘A Safe Day. Every Day.’ An internal recognition program has been developed to reward project teams that embody this value on their projects. Each quarter the NRW management team selects the safest project to win ‘Project of the Quarter’. The winning project is selected based on their safety performance and compliance to the safety management systems.
Beyond the internal recognition and benchmarking, the program is also about empowering NRW employees to improve the communities in which we live through its charity component. The winning project selects a charity of their choice to donate $5000 to.
Since the program began in early 2012, NRW has donated approximately half a million dollars to various local and national charities.
The latest winner, the NRW Middlemount project team have chosen Solider On to be the beneficiary of this money. Soldier On’s mission is to achieve the best reintegrated generation of serving and ex-serving men and women in Australia’s history, by supporting their mental and physical health, as well as their families and communities.
Congratulations to the entire team at Middlemount Coal Mine, who have won their sixth Project of the Quarter. Previous wins for this project have resulted in donations to CQ Rescue, Beyond Blue, the Leukaemia Foundation and Make-A-Wish Australia
