PROJECT DESCRIPTION

OZ Minerals Carrapateena Mine, located 150km North of Port Augusta in South Australia, is one of Australia’s largest undeveloped copper deposits. The mine will be a 4.25 Mtpa underground mining operation, with an estimated mine life of 20 years.

The contract is for the design and construction of a 1.6km sealed airstrip with lighting and navigation aids. Further works awaiting finalization by the Client include 55km of heavy haulage access roads, and life of mine tailings storage facility.

The contract award is a significant milestone for NRW as it seeks to diversify in both client and geographical location.

CONTRACT SUMMARY

The project commenced with an early works package of various small scope of works covering construction of an access track, diesel fuel pads and waste sorting pads. The handover for earthworks pads for the diesel fuel and waste sorting facilities have now been completed.
