PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Contract for Rio Tinto’s West Angelas Access Road Project was to upgrade the existing road between Great Northern Highway and West Angelas mine in the Pilbara, Western Australia.
The Project scope included:
- 19,000 cubic metres of excavation
- 266,000 cubic metres of embankment construction
- 5,300 lineal metres of culverts
- 31 kilometres of bitumen sealed pavement including the installation of two floodways
The Project ran for approximately 24 weeks and at its peak had 120 personnel based on site.
