PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Simandou Project is situated in a unique location on the Pic De Fon Mountain in Guinea (West Africa). NRW were contracted for the mining pre-development works in 2006 and were onsite continuously until finalising the Contract in December 2012.

The original scope of works developed into further assistance to Rio Tinto including the construction of the Beyla airstrip, surface mining trials, the National/Regional Roads Program and additional drill pad and access road construction.

NRW worked with local organisations to provide constant education, training and competency evaluation to the French and local dialect speaking workforce.

The Project had approximately 220 in country workforce comprising expatriates and local personnel.
