PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Port Hedland Inner Harbour Project comprised of three sections:
- Goldsworthy to Finucane Island Rail Duplication earthworks;
- Mooka Access Road and
- Mooka Marshalling Yard.
NRW undertook earthworks for 13 kilometres of rail duplication, 23 kilometres of bitumen sealed access road construction and 700,000 cubic metres cut and borrow to fill.
The Project also involved 180,000 cubic metres rail sub-ballast capping and 4 kilometres of CSP culverts as well as drilling and blasting of 120,000 cubic metres of rock.
NRW’s peak workforce reached approximately 250 employees on this project.
