PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Anderson Point T155: Port Expansion Project required NRW to carry out more than 1,500,000 cubic metres of bulk earthworks forming a new stacker, reclaimer and associated stockyards, extending the existing ship loader causeway and constructing new dredge settlement pond areas. These works assisted in taking Fortescue’s port capacity from 45mtpa to 155mtpa.

The Contract also included 15,000 cubic metres of structural concrete and the installation of 4,500 CFA piles.

NRW were required to work in close proximity to other contractors and minimise disruption to Fortescue operations during the second and third phase of Fortescue’s T155: Port Expansion works.

Peak manning on the project reached 250 personnel.

The Project was environmentally sensitive working adjacent to mangroves and was completed without incident.
